John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people with his pop-folk songs and many of them located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Deutschedorf from Roswell near New Mexico, fell in love with Colorado. The place he settled was Aspen. More than a few people beat a path through Colorado due to Denver's famous anthems to his adopted state. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the director of this hall of fame, said: "I don't believe there is another performer that embodies Colorado like John Denver." Denver was the first Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. He is now the symbol of Colorado to people around the world. Through my travels I've had the pleasure of meeting individuals from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell people you're from Colorado, the first words they say are"Oh John Denver. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's first Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time in small Folk Music Groups. The song was written by Bill Danoff. Danoff initially wrote the song with Johnny Cash's music with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver realized from the first time he heard earlier versions that it could be a huge popular. The song was first recorded several weeks after it was performed in Washington D.C. performance.
