John Denver was a superstar artist who was a hit by his popular-folk hits, many of which were based in Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in affection with Colorado and later relocated to Aspen. Denver's famous anthems about Colorado have been a major influence on many to relocate to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver was by far one of the top musicians who was a symbol of Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever to be inducted. Denver is a symbol of the state for all people. People you meet in other nations, for instance New Zealanders and tell them "I come Colorado" and they say "I am from Colorado" and they immediately reply by saying Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's first Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time with small folk groups. The song was written by Bill Danoff. Danoff used Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver recognized that the song could be a huge hit after it was discovered that an earlier version. The song was recorded by the singer just a few days later after performing it to an enthusiastic audience in Washington D.C.
